  • Throat Singing Performance

    Taiqaa//Ambe Omaa (come here, come here) is a duo which connects conversations surrounding Indigenous culture with the art of throat singing. With both demonstrative and interactive aspects, they aim use education to invoke feelings and conversation surrounding the themes of their events. Throat singing may go a few rounds, so please hold applause until the performers have disconnected at the arms.

Saturday

  • SAY THEIR NAMES: Remembering Black Americans Killed by Police Violence.

    “ There will be no bright lights, noises, or scents. The content is what the title suggests. It is a research project for remembering those killed. It is not about how they were killed so there will not be any depictions, retelling, or presentations of violence. “

  • Exploring Death, Grief and Trauma

    Since March of 2022, artist Kean O'Brien has been leading a course at Latitude titled ""Exploring Death, Grief, and Trauma"" through our OpenEd program.

    Latitude is featuring the works of students from this class and this panel will hold a conversation between Kean O'Brien, Angelina Barrucco, Maura Walsh, Rosa Perez, and Larry Wolf about the work and readings from the class."

  • Based on the ideas presented in the Invisible Labors publication, this is a panel comprising of contemporary female land-keepers and artists. The discussion will primarily revolve around the original motivation for the Terrain Biennial project, the trajectory of the Invisible Labors publication and segue way into how gardens and farms impact our creative and community-based work.

  • Mayfield will present a variety of performances from past and present artists and surprise guests. During this 45 minute slot anything is possible.

  • The Phil and Deb Project - music by Holy Sheboygan!

    Musical collective Holy Sheboygan performs original music based on the life and work of Chicago artist Phil Kalinowski and Deb Cole, his longtime friend, collaborator, collector, and muse.

  • Sound Out.

    Sound Out is an ongoing experimental music series based at Mirror Lab. This performance features improvised and composed electronics by Mirror Lab organizers organizers Thomas Myrmel and John Marks.

  • Hosted by Stockyard Institute in collaboration with Chicago gallery Twin, Chicago Artist Club (Isabelle Frances Mcguire & Kira Scerbin) presents the world premier of new music videos.

  • Yollocalli Arts Reach x Lumpen Radio ft. Stephanie Manriquez and Charly Garcia.

    LIGHT PAINTING SHOW EXTRAVAGANZA

    Yollocalli youth will be presenting a digital installation, projecting and improvising a performance utilizing a live light painting technique full of colors, textures, weirdness and visual deliciousness.

  • A pensive experimental work performed as a powerpoint slideshow of short phrases intended for the audience to read out loud in unison. "Fugitive Dust" weaves together the industrial revolution, coal, American westward expansion, the formation of the cross-country railroad, prehistory and mass extinctions, and a story about a woman on the run from the law.

  • A pop-up figure drawing session for everyone, no experience needed. All welcome! We will provide materials for participants to draw with. The aim is to lower the barriers for anyone to participate in drawing the human form outside the confines of a class or a studio.

  • MASS (Mechanism for Actualizing Speculative Soundscapes)

    MASS is a naturesound-driven live audio / visual performance built using field recordings from a variety of natural places. The compositions encourage the audience to slow down and listen.

  • Whitney LaMora, the Founder & Curator of The Martin presents three stories from her interactive solo exhibition inspired by ceramic figurines she was gifted throughout her childhood.
