John Engelbrecht is an artist, arts organizer, educator, and the Executive Director of Public Space One (PS1). Since joining PS1 in 2009, he has steadily built the beloved regional arts institution operating locally as Iowa City’s arts hub through securing national recognition (in grants, awards, and accolades in the contemporary arts field), thanks to its innovative programming (residencies, performances, exhibitions, and public projects) and wide-ranging artist network. Under his tenure, the organization has grown from its DIY/DIT roots to owning, occupying, and programming three historic buildings in downtown Iowa City and operating major projects including the Iowa City Press Co-op, the Center for Afrofuturist Studies, the Media Arts Co-op, and the Iowa contingent of MdW. He also teaches art in Iowa City, IA and Shanghai, China.

My name is Narciso M. Elizalde. I am from Hidalgo, Mexico. For the past few years, I have lived and worked in and around what is now known as Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa. I work with polymer clay to make low and high-relief style sculptures. The themes that inform my work revolve around traditional Indigenous ritual practices, especially in regards to themes of world renewal and participation in universal networks of relations, as manifested through Flower Worlds’ spirituality. These and other related forms of expression are often known as Costumbres, the "Old Ways," and are practiced and created throughout what is now called Mesoamerica, the American Southwest, and beyond, from times immemorial to the present.

Rich Dana is an artist and publisher, specializing in obsolete and DIY printing techniques and feral technologies.

Lex Leto (they/them) is a collaborator, educator, and maker. Informed by time spent in music school, art museums, local shows, and libraries, Lex is interested in experimental art, performance, improvisation, and how collaboration shapes the work they make. Their work as a musician is an indulgence in sound as feeling. Their work as a performer is an interest in subverting expectation and sharing excitement. Their work as a DIY artist is a pursuit of new skills created with minimal materials. The confluence of these is a practice reliant on their artistic training and intuition, collaboration, interest in learning, and projects heavily informed by Leto’s materials and facilities with them. Their music is often characterized by dense and saturated textures, dreamy vocal harmonies, subtle dissonances, and noise. Lex often performs with dancers or as a solo musician on electronics, flute and pedals, and voice, as well as as a bassist in their band KL!NG. When not making music, Lex can be found looking at clouds, on a long bike ride, at the local cinema, or making t-shirts for their friends.

Larassa Kabel is an artist and independent curator working in Des Moines, Iowa.
