Confluence: An East Lake Studio for Community Design

Join Confluence Studio and friends in a balmy sonic intervention along East Lake Street in South Minneapolis. We'll be meeting at the Studio's AMMU / Autonomous Mobile Media Unit, a "newsroom for neighbors" that the Studio collaboratively constructed at the corner of Chicago Ave. and East Lake St. in the aftermath of the 2020 Uprising. In the Spring of 2021 Confluence moved the AMMU down East Lake to the courtyard of Moon Palace Books so that a social space existing outside events dictated by the powers that be could reside in the shadow of the still charred and barricaded 3rd Precinct.
Check out the AMMU, make some noise, and learn more about Confluence Studio, its philosophy and actions, in the early afternoon. Afterwards enjoy the wealth of cultural riches along East Lake Street and the neighborhood at large, such as Taqueria Las Cuatro Milpas, Moon Palace Books, Dur Dur Bakery, Arbeiter Brewing, the Midtown Global Market, All My Relations Gallery, Hair and Nails, and The Future.
Starting at 7pm stop over at Cedar Ave. mainstay MirrorLab, an artist-run studio gallery space for a night of improvisatory experimental sounds. And possibly close out the night down the block from the gallery at the origin spot of Minneapolis' famed Jucy Lucy at much beloved Matt's Bar.
